Play of the Day: They Took Away Trump's Twitter Access
Like Batman without his utility belt, Trump's most powerful weapon is gone.
In the days before the election, Hillary Clinton pulled out all the stops in bringing in celebrities to campaign for her. Joining her were Bruce Springsteen, Lebron James and Beyonce, prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to joke that she's writing a coffee table book called People I'm Not As Cool As.
The New York Times reported over the weekend that Trump's campaign staff "wrested away the Twitter account" from him in the last leg of the campaign. Trump's entertaining tweets were a highlight of the 2016 cycle and late-night joked about the news. Jimmy Kimmel joked that the move was "a great idea they should've had 400 days ago." The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the aides "switched his phone with a calculator and he still hasn't noticed," while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump's power comes from Twitter, so taking it away would be like taking away Batman's utility belt. After all, without their main sources of power, they're both just billionaires with anger issues.
