Play of the Day: Trump's Cabinet Search May Be a Game Show
The president-elect said on Twitter that only he knows who the "finalists" are.
President Barack Obama went on his final scheduled foreign trip as president this week, going to Greece to meet with European leaders. Late-night hosts joked about Obama's trip, with Conan O'Brien saying Obama wanted to "get used to seeing a once-great democracy in ruins, " while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about Joe Biden holding a toga party.
Amidst reports that his transition planning is in disarray, president-elect Donald Trump tweeted "Very organized process taking place as I decide on Cabinet and many other positions. I am the only one who knows who the finalists are!" The use of the word "finalists" caused Late Night's Seth Meyers to joked about the game show nature of the cabinet search, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert suggested it could be a Bachelor-esque rose ceremony in the actual Rose Garden. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah went back to Trump's Apprentice days to explain the lack of speed in the transition planning, noting that Trump took 13 weeks each season of The Apprentice to hire anyone.
