Play of the Day: Russia, the CIA and Donald Trump
Late-night takes on the election's newest scandal.
President-elect Donald Trump told Chris Wallace over the weekend that he doesn't need to take daily intelligence briefings because he is "like, a smart person." Desus & Mero joked that Trump just wants the "Reader's Digest version" complete with cartoons, while Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that no one who is actually smart tells people they're a smart person.
Late-night TV hosts tackled the news that Russia interfered with the 2016 election in favor of Trump on Monday night. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the scandal is the "biggest scandal trump has faced since Friday," while Jimmy Kimmel joked about Trump's reluctance to investigate the Russians because the president-elect "will be up for reelection in four years and he might need 'em."
