Play of the Day: President Trump Celebrates Black History Month
Donald Trump held a "listening session" at the White House on Wednesday.
Two weeks after he left office, former president Barack Obama was spotted on a private island this week vacationing. Obama was wearing flip flops and a backward baseball hat, prompting Conan O'Brien to joke that he looks like a "cool English teacher," while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that Obama was wearing his hat either pointed toward Mecca or in "whatever direction the country's going in."
President Donald Trump kicked off Black History Month on Wednesday by holding a "listening session" at the White House. The president lauded abolitionist author -- and dead man since 1895 -- Frederick Douglass as "somebody who has done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more," prompting Viceland's Desus and Mero to suggest Trump thinks Douglass is a boxer while Noah joked that Trump mistook Ben Carson for Douglass. Trump's event also prompted late-night hosts to joked that Trump may not be up on his black history, with Late Show's Stephen Colbert joking that Trump, at one point, was just listing black people's names that he knew (including Rosa Parks and Fat Albert).
