Play of the Day: Donald Trump Had Ted Cruz Over For Dinner
The two former rivals shared a meal this week to try and work on health care.
Former president Barack Obama paid a visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. this week and was photographed in new, stylish clothes. Jimmy Kimmel joked about the photos of Obama, saying he'd fit in places like an action movie where he's walking away from an explosion (which makes some sense).
In trying to get more support for the new health care law, President Donald Trump had Senator Ted Cruz and his family over for dinner. The two fought quite a contentious primary during the 2016 election, including Cruz calling Trump "pathological liar" and "utterly amoral," and Trump insulting Cruz's wife Heidi and suggesting his father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Kimmel joked that the government could make some money by putting the dinner on pay-per-view, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert showed a joke invitation from Trump to Cruz.
