Play of the Day: More on Jared Kushner's White House Role
Maybe he's in every meeting. Or maybe he's a ghost.
Time named President Donald Trump one of the most 100 influential people in 2017 recently and had House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., write the profile. In it, Ryan said Trump can find a "way to defy the odds and get it done," causing Jimmy Kimmel to ask what Trump has done other than his hair. After all, he can't even get his wife to move into the White House.
Last Week Tonight's John Oliver devoted the show's main story Sunday night to the roles of Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner. Oliver compared Ivanka to an "Old Testament God" and noted the many roles Kushner has been handed by his father-in-law. Oliver joked that Kushner has been in so many meetings at the White House that he could be influential or he "died in the White House in the late 1800s and has been haunting it ever since."
