Play of the Day: The President Has Some Interesting Friends Over For Dinner
Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock visit the Oval Office.
President Donald Trump hosted Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni at the White House Thursday and noted that famed Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti is his "great friend." Jimmy Kimmel noticed this on Thursday, reminding viewers that Trump probably hasn't heard from his friend recently, as Pavarotti has been dead since 2007.
Trump had some still-alive friends over to the White House this week for dinner: Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and Play of the Day favorite Sarah Palin. Photos circulated on social media of the meeting, prompting The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon to call them "The redneck holy trinity" and Viceland's Desus & Mero call them "The axis of f--king Bass Pro Shops." Conan O'Brien noted the reality-show nature of the gathering, saying the group "expressed their regrets that Honey Boo Boo couldn't make it."
