Play of the Day: Trump's Potential Health Care 'Surprise'
If the Senate bill doesn't pass, Trump says we may be in for a "big surprise."
President Donald Trump interrupted a diplomatic call with newly-elected Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar by telling Varadkar that Irish reporter Caitriona Perry "has a nice smile on her face so I bet she treats you well." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that Trump then said "Wait, now it's gone" while Viceland's Desus & Mero joked that Perry looks suspiciously like Trump's daughter Ivanka.
After the Senate health care bill vote was delayed, more reports have come out suggesting the Trump White House -- including the president himself -- is not fully engaged in the efforts to pass the bill. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted Trump's tweet promising "victory" on health care, joking that Trump seems to think health care is a competition. Colbert also noted Trump saying he would "We're going to have a big surprise" on health care, joking that the last thing anyone wants from health care is a surprise.
