Play of the Day: The Demise of Trump's Manufacturing Council
Adding to a rough week, the president disbanded his advisory council.
Steve Bannon left his job as White House strategist on Friday, prompting late-night to joke about his departure. Fox News' Greg Gutfeld joked that he and other former Trump staffers could start cable news shows, while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the Trump White House is like a Final Destination movie.
Trump disbanded his advisory council on manufacturing last week after various CEOs and officials left the group after Trump's comments about the violence in Charlottesville. Before leaving the council, Campbell Soup Company CEO Denise Morrison put out a statement stating "Racism and murder are unequivocally reprehensible," prompting Last Week Tonight's John Oliver to joke that soup should never have to start a statement like that, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that such a statement is like the Jolly Green Giant condemning Nazism.
