Play of the Day: Trump's Working Vacation
The president is taking "meetings and calls" up in New Jersey.
A weekend New York Times report suggested that Vice President Mike Pence is among Republicans eyeing a 2020 presidential run if President Donald Trump does not run for reelection. Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that Trump's prospects for lasting long enough in the job are slim enough to make the report moot.
The White House is undergoing renovations, forcing Trump to spend two weeks at his golf club in New Jersey on a working vacation. Trump tweeted that he's taking "meetings and calls," prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to say the tweet is how "an eight-year-old would describe an adult job," while Jimmy Kimmel joked that "sending Chris Christie on a White Castle run" is neither a meeting nor a call. Trump met another wedding party at his golf club and was caught on video asking "where's the bride?" prompting Meyers and Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke about Trump's checkered history with the institution of marriage.
