Play of the Day: President Predictive Text
John Oliver has his iPhone write a speech like President Donald Trump.
President Donald Trump is in Asia and tweeted about Kim Jong-un over the weekend, saying he "would NEVER call him 'short and fat.'" Saturday Night Live's Michael Che joked that Trump sounded "funny," "vain" and "catty," while Last Week Tonight's John Oliver noted that the tweet would be "the stupidest possible reason for all of us to die."
Oliver's show aired its season finale on Sunday night, devoting the bulk of the show to Trump's demolition of previous norms of the presidency. Oliver joked about Trump's shove Montenegran leader Dusko Markovic in May and Trump's press conference addressing his conflicts of interest, noting all those folders. Oliver also joked about a Trump incoherent answer to a question on the Iran nuclear deal, joking that it sounded like a "drunk driver crashing a pickup truck full of alphabet soup." Oliver also used an iPhone's predictive text function, starting with "the nuclear." It didn't sound wildly different from Trump's answer, so Oliver joked "an iPhone would be a more coherent president of the United States."
