Play of the Day: Mick Mulvaney's Job Interview at CFPB
The OMB chief says he won't "blow it up" at the consumer bureau.
Michael Flynn pled guilty on Friday to lying to the FBI, but the news was hailed as good news by Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost over the weekend Jost joked that Flynn, at least, wasn't in trouble for sexual harassment or assault, joking "He only lied to the FBI? He didn't also whip it out during a meeting? What a solid guy!"
With the drama over leadership at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau mostly over, Acting Director Mick Mulvaney told reporters last week that he – a frequent critic of CFPB as a Congressman – won't "set the place on fire or blow it up or lock the doors." Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Mulvaney's example is too specific and reminiscent of a very dangerous job interview.
