Play of the Day: Trump Loves a Parade
Reports say the president wants a military parade like "the one in France."
A video circulated this week of President Donald Trump's blowing oddly in the wind while he walked onto Air Force One late last week, exposing what appeared to be a bald spot on the back of his head. Jimmy Kimmel joked about the video, saying "even Darth Vader had the good sense to wear a helmet," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that he was "relieved that there wasn't a face on the back of his head."
The Washington Post reported this week that Trump has asked the Pentagon to plan a military parade after marveling at one he saw while in France. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted the irony of Trump admiring a parade lauding a French holiday celebrating a popular uprising against the rich, while Fallon joked that Trump might think a military parade is the Macy's Thanksgiving parade and The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted that the military could show Trump an empty street and wow him with "stealth technology." Colbert joked about the frivolity of such a conversation happening in a highly secretive room of the Pentagon, recreating Trump telling generals to "go to Party City, get some red, white and blue streamers" because "we're making a float."
