Play of the Day: A New EPA Challenge Coin Design
Scott Pruitt wants an agency symbol to more reflect his values.
President Donald Trump canceled his trip to South America this week and will be replaced by Vice President Mike Pence. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the switch is like "ordering a Jaegerbomb and getting a Shirley Temple."
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt continues to be criticized for various scandals, including new reports that he wanted to change the agency's challenge coin design to more suit his own leadership. Pruitt reportedly didn't like the EPA seal, allegedly suggesting the logo looks like a marijuana leaf. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted that the seal only looks like weed if one is already high. Pruitt also allegedly also wanted to put a bible verse on the coin, prompting The Opposition's Jordan Klepper to joke about Pruitt's belief in intelligent design. Colbert even brought several of Pruitt's recent spending scandals and his treatment of the planet to a new coin design that has private planes, lots of security and even some burning tires.
