Play of the Day: How The Red Hen Should Have Served Sarah Huckabee Sanders
Perhaps the server should have acted like the White House.
President Donald Trump insulted The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon in a tweet, calling him "whimpering" and questioning Fallon's masculinity. Fallon responded on his show Monday night, asking how First Lady Melania Trump's anti-online bullying campaign is going.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave the Red Hen, a Virginia restaurant, after the owner refused to serve her due to political differences. Sanders had ordered a cheese plate before being asked to leave, which was comped, prompting The Opposition's Jordan Klepper to joke that separating children from families is one thing, but separating a woman from her appetizer is another. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that the restaurant should've served her with the sam "low energy attitude" that Sanders gives to the press, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert went down the same path and even included a Sanders-esque monologue on the menu and specials.
