Play of the Day: Melania Trump Visits The Border
She spoke to children and wore a jacket with a message.
President Donald Trump's administration released a major plan for government reorganization that includes combining the Departments of Labor and Education. Jimmy Kimmel joked that the new agency would combine Trump's two least-favorite things: work and reading.
First Lady Melania Trump visited a facility housing children who had come over the border on Thursday. When a staffer told her that the average stay for the children is between "42 and 45 days," she said "that's great," prompting Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that she replied "my record for being gone is 25 days." She was also photographed wearing a jacket with the words "I really don't care, do u?" written on the back, which created a controversy her spokespeople knocked down by saying "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message." Colbert joked that about the statement, saying it's "literally spelled out" and Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that it's like saying Aerosmith's music has hidden messages about love in an elevator. Kimmel noted President Trump's tweet on the subject, joking that "there either was or wasn't a hidden message. It's one of those two things."
