Play of the Day: Can Trump End Birthright Citizenship?
The president wants to change the policy via an executive order, but the language of the 14th amendment may have other plans.
A new lawsuit alleges that Trump Organization, including President Donald Trump and his kids, used the Trump name to scam vulnerable people out of money via multi-level marketing schemes including a vitamin business. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, showing an unflattering photo of the president and saying "if you let this guy sell you vitamins, you brought it on yourself."
In an interview released on Tuesday, Trump said he would try to put together an executive order to end birthright citizenship to those born to immigrant parents, a right guaranteed by the 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that it's all part of Trump's plan to make sure no babies vote in 2020, while Meyers joked that Trump never got past "We the people" in the Constitution, so he definitely doesn't know what the 14th amendment says. Jimmy Kimmel also joked about the news, saying that Trump's usual executive orders come with biscuits and chicken, while also noting that deporting children because of their parents could start with some kids named Donald Jr. and Eric.
