Play of the Day: Donald Trump's Seat at The Republican Presidents' Table
A painting shown in a recent televised interview shows the current president sitting with the Bushes, Lincoln and Gerald Ford.
Lesley Stahl interviewed President Donald Trump on 60 Minutes over the weekend and Trump told Stahl "I'm not a baby" and "I'm president and you're not." Late Late Show's James Corden joked that only toddlers proclaim that they're not babies and Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump probably ends a lot of conversations in anger with "I'm president and you're not."
During the interview, the cameras caught a new piece of art in the White House: Andy Thomas' "The Republican Club." The painting shows Trump sitting at a table with past Republican presidents (Teddy Roosevelt, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln) smiling and drinking. Corden joked that all the other presidents in the painting look like they're wondering why Trump is even there, while Kimmel joked that Trump would look less out of place in one of the Dogs Playing Poker paintings. Corden also joked that Trump probably can't name many of the presidents in the painting, joking that Trump might ask of the Ford portrayal "Wow, I had no idea Frasier was president."
