Presidend Donald Trump hosted the college football national champion Clemson Tigers on Monday night and served them fast food from Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonald’s and Domino’s on gleaming White House serving China. Late-night hosts joked about the news and the White House-released photo of the event. Late Late Show's James Corden joked that the photo looked like a divorced dad trying to do Thanksgiving, while Kimmel joked that it looked like a "super villain who set up a trap to capture himself." Corden also joked that the estimated $3,000 worth of food was just Trump went into McDonald's and said "gimme the usual." On Tuesday, Trump tweeted that he bought 1,000 "hamberders," prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to wonder if it was a typo or just that Trump doesn't know how to spell "hamburger," while Late Show's Stephen Colbert also joked that the White House served "chorken nerglets" and "pizzazz" to the players.
