Play of the Day: Mulvaney's Time in the President's Doghouse May Be Ending
The acting Chief of Staff is taking the heat from Trump, but will he leave?
President Donald Trump gave his State of the Union address last week, speaking for more than 80 minutes. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the teleprompter at the speech during his "Thank You Notes" segment, thanking the machine for "giving us the one night a year when our president uses sentences that actually make sense."
According to reports, acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney is eyeing the exit as Trump has been unhappy with Mulvaney's work on the shutdown negotiations. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, sarcastically saying that Mulvaney's predecessor John Kelly "always looked so happy" and joked about Trump needing Mulvaney to get the president to stop saying inflammatory things about the shutdown.
