According to a book released last week, President Donald Trump told his former Chief of Staff John Kelly to fire Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Jimmy Kimmel joked that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the reports by saying "while Trump does support separating families" he doesn't support breaking up his own family.
More and more candidates are joining the 2020 Democratic primary, with more than a dozen who have declared their intentions. Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke recently joined and has made a habit of standing and crouching on things to fire up crowds, prompting Late Late Show's James Corden to joke that he'll crouch on the lectern during a debate against Trump. Former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel has made noise about joining, though Gravel is 88. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about Gravel's age, saying that a debate between he and septuagenarian Trump would just be an "three-hour symphony of dry coughs."
