Play of the Day: It's the Right Month for Mueller Madness
While the White House sent out a memo to TV producers, Sarah Huckabee Sanders got into the madness on twitter
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Monday blocked a resolution to release Special Counsel Robert Mueller's full report publicly. Late Late Show's James Corden joked about the news on Tuesday, saying that waiting a little while more for a report that took two years is akin to waiting for another Star Wars movie.
President Donald Trump's White House released a memo this week of people it believes should not be booked for TV appearances because of their misleading analysis of the Trump/Russia connections. The memo asks producers to ask “Does this guest warrant further appearances on your programming given the outrageous and unsupported claims made in the past?” prompting Jimmy Kimmel to joke about Trump's inauguration crowd claims, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Fox News, if only allowed to have credible guests on air, will just be a test pattern. Colbert also joked about White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeting out a New York Post "Mueller Madness" bracket with the hashtag #youdecide, saying that the hashtag was the same thing Mueller wrote about obstruction of justice.
