Play of the Day: Make Pilots Simple Again
The president doesn't want fancy doodads in planes.
President Donald Trump's Office of Management and Budget released its 2020 budget plan this week and it includes $72 million for the Space Force headquarters and funding. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying that the Space Force HQ will be thousands of miles long and three feet wide, and it will just be the border wall.
Trump went on a two-tweet run on Tuesday about air travel, saying that "Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly" and that "I don’t want Albert Einstein to be my pilot." Jimmy Kimmel joked about the tweets, saying Trump wants to go back to a simpler time, "when planes had propellers" and "you could smoke on 'em," while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump tweeting "simpler is better" speaks to Trump's simple nature. Colbert also joked that Trump's Einstein comment makes Trump the only person in America who wants dumber pilots.
