Play of the Day: Trump Tries to Veto By Tweeto
The Senate rebuked the president's emergency declaration.
Former Congressman Beto O'Rourke announced on Thursday that he is going to run for the presidency, making him the 15th Democrat to join the race. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about the news, showing a photo of all of them and saying that the Democrats can now "start the world's worst soccer team."
The Senate voted to block President Donald Trump’s national-emergency declaration on Thursday, with 12 Republicans joining Democrats in the vote. Jimmy Kimmel joked about the news, saying it was the "most embarrassing beating he's taken since Stormy Daniels," while Late Late Show's James Corden compared it to "a barrier of some kind." Trump tweeted later in the afternoon the word "VETO" in all caps, prompting Late Night's Seth Meyers to joke that Trump will tweet "RE-ELECT" in two years, while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon called it the first "veto by tweeto."
