Play of the Day: The President Touts His Youthful Energy
Trump called himself a "young, vibrant man" and "the youngest person in the world."
Former Vice President Joe Biden announced his run for the presidency last week and immediately became the frontrunner in many polls. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying that it's better that Biden is leading because bad things happen when he comes from behind.
During a press scrum on the White House lawn last week, President Donald Trump answered a question about age by saying "I’m so young. I can’t believe it. I’m the youngest person. I am a young, vibrant man.” Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the septuagenarian's statement by saying it's the type of thing a nursing home resident says as his nurse is pushing him, while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that nothing says young like a "72-year-old yelling at people on his front lawn." Colbert also joked about the "I'm the youngest person" line, saying that Trump resembles a baby in that he wears a diaper, has a limited vocabulary and "everything I see, I put in my mouth."
