Play of the Day: The President's Beef With Windmills
Donald Trump does not like a certain type of energy generation.
President Donald Trump spoke at a Republican fundraising event on Tuesday and seemed to vacillate on the abbreviation for his "Keep America Great" 2020 slogan: KAG. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that it sounds like "a cat coughing up a hairball."
Trump also went after wind power at the NRCC event on Tuesday, saying that the base of windmills are "like a graveyard for birds" and that "we'll put a little statue for" the poor dead birds. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about Trump's love of birds, showing the famed photo of the president with a bucket of KFC and saying "here he is attending a wake for a beloved chicken." Trump also made the out-there conspiratorial claim that windmill "noise causes cancer," prompting Colbert to joke "that's why everyone in Holland is dead" and Late Night's Seth Meyers to joke that Trump isn't turning into the crazy guy on the subway archetype, but rather he's now the guy that the crazy guy on the subway warns you about.
