Play of the Day: The President Is Going to Take In a Sumo Match In Japan
Trump will take in Japanese culture while on his visit.
After President Donald Trump left a meeting with Democratic leaders early this week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters "The president is not a reality show." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, doing an impression of the Celebrity Apprentice host -- and 45th president -- saying to Schumer "You're lucky you have immunity this week."
Trump is headed to Japan this weekend to meet with that nation's prime minister, Shinzō Abe. According to reports, Trump will also be the first foreign leader to meet recently-tapped Emperor Naruhito, prompting Jimmy Kimmel to joke that the two will watch the Pokémon movie. Abe is also treating Trump by having the two attend a sumo wrestling event, prompting The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon to joke that Trump could watch diaper-clad men fighting by watching Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders debate. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump would see the sumos and say "I told you I've got an athletic build" and "Put me in, coach, I'm already wearing the diaper."
