Play of the Day: Hope Hicks Testifies Behind Closed Doors
The former White House staffer didn't give much to Congress.
President Donald Trump kicked off his reelection campaign on Tuesday night in Florida and the president polled those in attendance about whether he should use "Make America Great Again" or "Keep America Great" as his 2020 slogan. Jimmy Kimmel joked about the news, saying he was rooting for "Make American Great Again Again."
Former White House advisor Hope Hicks testified on Capitol Hill in a closed-door interview with the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and, reportedly, was mum on most of the details of her time at the White House. Full Frontal's Samantha Bee joked about Hicks, saying that Hicks should "for one, in your shampoo commercial of a life, answer somebody's questions," while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Hicks' office space in the White House was near "Stephen Miller's terrarium" and "Kellyanne Conway's haunted crawlspace." Colbert also joked about Trump calling Hicks "Hopey," saying that the president said "I hopey that she doesn't tell the truthy."
