Play of the Day: Norway, The 2020 Election and the Prince of 'Whales'
Donald Trump spoke to ABC and talked about receiving information from foreign governments.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is leaving her job at the end of the month, the White House announced on Thursday. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that President Donald Trump will nominate Twitter as Sanders' successor.
Trump told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that he would "listen" to a foreign government, if one to provide him with damaging information about a 2020 opponent, despite it being a crime. Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump "honestly doesn't seem to know what collusion is. All he knows is that he didn't do it." Trump told Stephanopoulos "If somebody called from a country, Norway, [and said] ‘we have information on your opponent' -- oh, I think I'd want to hear it," prompting Fallon to wonder where Trump got Norway and to ask if Trump was going to start naming random fictional countries like Wakanda, while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about Trump would do if he got a call from Zimbabwe.
Later, Trump tweeted about the backlash and misspelled Prince Charles' title as "Prince of Whales" (he later corrected the tweet). Kimmel joked that Trump also meets with Aquaman, Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump would threaten plankton tariffs and Late Night's Seth Meyers joking that Trump was looking for Charles' blowhole when they met last week.
