Play of the Day: The President and Weather Maps
Donald Trump spoke in the Oval Office and had an interesting visual aid.
In a recent New York Times story, Democratic 2020 hopeful Marianne Williamson said that part of her strategy to beat President Donald Trump in next year's election would be to "hit him in his third eye." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying this scared Trump into exclaiming "Not my butthole!"
Trump spoke in the Oval Office on Wednesday to update the nation on the path of Hurricane Dorian and the potential damage it could bring to the United States. During the event, Trump showed an outdated map from last week indicating the storm's potential path and said map seemed to have an extended path to Alabama. Coincidentally, Alabama is where Trump incorrectly claimed over the weekend that the storm would head, so it appears the White House altered the map with a marker. Jimmy Kimmel noted the marking's similarity to a Sharpie's markings and showed a video of Trump in the Oval Office praising the Sharpie. Meyers joked that Trump's altering of the map resembles a child's altering of a report card, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that it looks like Trump gave the map "a boob job." Colbert also noted that Trump may have altered a weather report, which violates 18 U.S. Code § 2074 and said that Trump would go to "weather jail."
