Play of the Day: The White House's Alleged Ineffective Hiding of the Phone Call Notes
According to the whistleblower complaint, the Trump administration needs to work on its cover up skills.
Thursday saw the release of the whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump regarding his phone calls with foreign leaders and, specifically, his call over the summer with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The scandal is moving so rapidly that Jimmy Kimmel joked about the news, saying that "this thing grabs Trump by the McNuggets and doesn't ask permission."
The complaint alleges that White House officials worked to "lock down" any records of the phone call, including moving it from the normal system to a different server. Kimmel joked that the server issue suggests "you can hear Hillary screaming from the woods of Chappaqua." The alleged attempt at covering up the scandal promoted hosts to joke about the president's hair, with The Tonight Show showing different photos of Trump's hair blowing in the wind and host Jimmy Fallon joking "why would anyone think that Trump is the type of guy who cover something up?" and Kimmel saying "you'd think the guy with the world's most famous combover would be better" at covering things up.
