Play of the Day: The President's Tweets About Taking Credit For Killing Wanted Terrorists
Donald Trump's old tweets tell a different story than the one he told on Sunday.
In addition to being booed at the game, President Donald Trump was greeted at a World Series game on Sunday with a banner that read "Impeach Trump." The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that stadium security was able to identify Hillary Clinton and escort her out of Nationals Park.
Trump announced the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS. Trump announced it on Sunday morning after teasing it on Twitter the night before with tweets, including one that simply read "Something very big has just happened." Jimmy Kimmel joked about the news, saying he thought the tweet portended Kid Rock being named to lead the State Department. Trump told reporters that al-Baghdadi "died liked a dog," prompting Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that his childhood dog, Mr. Fluffles, got sick and his family made the decision to do "the humane thing and gave him a suicide vest and chased him down a tunnel."
During his announcement, Trump also said that ISIS member "use the internet better than almost anybody in the world, perhaps other than Donald Trump," while he was taking credit for al-Baghdadi's death, prompting Desus and Mero to joke that Trump still uses AOL.com and Kimmel to note that Trump is now number two to ISIS in that category. Kimmel also brought back some tweets from 2012, including one that said "Obama deserves much less credit for the killing of Bin Laden. The praise goes to our brave military and intelligence officers" and joked that this is why Trump is the best at using the internet.
