Senate leader vows to move SEC pay parity legislation
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle late last week reiterated his desire to move House Securities and Exchange Commission pay parity legislation, which has been pending in the Senate chamber for several weeks.
The legislation would bring the salaries of top-level agency employees up to a level commensurate with those paid to other federal financial regulatory employees.
In a letter Friday to National Treasury Employees Union President Colleen Kelley, Daschle said he "intend[s] to bring this legislation to the floor of the Senate this year, as soon as scheduling demands allow. This legislation is long overdue."
The letter was in response to a letter from Kelley.
