Union matches donations to federal Sandy victims
NTEU will give up to $25,000 to FEEA.
A federal employees union will match donations up to $25,000 to assist workers affected by Superstorm Sandy, the group has announced.
The donations will go to employees at agencies represented the National Treasury Employees Union, the largest independent federal union. NTEU will match donations made to its fund at the Federal Employees Education and Assistance.
“Though more than a week has passed, many federal workers are still coping with the devastation caused by hurricane-turned-megastorm Sandy and are facing a lengthy road to rebuilding and recovery,” NTEU President Colleen M. Kelley said in statement. “With tens of thousands of federal employees living and working in the storm-battered region, the need is great.”
