FurloughYOLO: Federal Employees Tweet How They Are Spending Their Shutdown-Induced Time Off
Feds are finding creative ways to spend the time.
When the federal government shut down Oct. 1, roughly 900,000 federal employees were sent home without pay. That number has been reduced somewhat, as the Defense Department brought back most of its furloughed civilians this week.
Still, more than half a million feds are not reporting to work every day, and they are finding creative ways to fill their time off.
Some workers are #furloughYOLO-ing by getting drinks with supervisors, while others are simply growing out their #furloughbeards. Check out our roundup below of federal employees who are live tweeting the shutdown, now in its 10th day.
