The 10 Agencies Whose Employees Are Most Satisfied With Their Pay

Federal employees are slightly happier with their jobs this year than last, according to the latest governmentwide survey, and growing satisfaction with pay was a factor. Fifty-seven percent of respondents to the 2015 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey said they were satisfied with their pay overall, an increase of 1 percentage point from 2014 and 3 percentage points from a recent low of 54 percent in 2013.

Still, there is wide variation across agencies. Just 47 percent of respondents from the Federal Trade Commission were satisfied with their salaries. NASA was at the other end of the spectrum for large agencies, with 70 percent of employees pleased with their pay. What other agencies were at the top of the scale? These are the top 10 large agencies (those with 800 or more full-time employees):
