GovExec Daily: The State of the Payroll Tax Deferral
Erich Wagner joins the podcast to discuss the latest pay and benefits news.
As a way to ameliorate the effects of the pandemic-caused recession, the White House issued an August presidential memorandum to defer the taxes of federal employees of about 600,000 federal employees. Since then, feds have gotten paid at various intervals. Unions, federal employee groups and progressive organizations have criticized the plan, citing the implementation of it and the confusion of the need to eventually pay back the taxes.
Erich Wagner covers the federal workforce and he joined the podcast to talk about the payroll deferral tax and discuss other pay and benefits stories he has been covering.
