Capital Region Federal Offices to Close Again on Friday for Snow
This will be the second time offices have closed due to weather this week.
Federal offices in the Washington, D.C. region will be closed for the second time this week on Friday due to expected snow, the Office of Personnel Management announced.
The closure announcement came as the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory predicting 2-4 inches of snow overnight in D.C. and nearby locations. This would be the second snowstorm in the area this week, with 7 or more inches of snow forcing closures of federal offices on Monday and a 3-hour delay on Tuesday.
Emergency employees will still be required to report to work on Friday, as will the many federal employees who are already teleworking due to the coronavirus pandemic. Non-emergency employees who had been scheduled to go into the office will receive weather and safety leave.
