Unisys to provide security services for Tricare system
The Defense Department's Military Health System has selected Unisys to provide security services and technical support for its Tricare automated information system/network programs.
The contract for one year is valued at $7 million plus four one-year options, for a total estimated value of $34 million.
Unisys will help the healthcare provider comply with each phase of the Defense information technology certification and accreditation process, which specifies how agencies must secure their computer information and protect patient privacy. Unisys developed the certification standard for Defense in the 1990s.
The contract, announced Monday, extends Unisys services to 220 sites.
