GovExec Daily: How Governments Can Use Contact Tracing in the Fight Against the Pandemic
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley joins the podcast to discuss why governments need to use technology to identify, isolate and track localized outbreaks.
The coronavirus pandemic has seen upticks in recent weeks, with the case number shooting past 2.5 million cases in June. As more states vacillate between opening up and moving forward in the CDC reopening phases, governments need to make decisions on how to test for and, perhaps, track the disease.
Martin O’Malley was governor of the state of Maryland and, before that, the mayor of Baltimore. He is currently is a Senior Advisor for Smart Governance with Grant Thornton and the author of Smarter Government: How to Govern for Results in the Information Age. He joined GovExec Daily to talk about contact tracing and how governments can better track the disease.
