Space seems infinite, but as governments and now private industry venture out there, earth orbital space is becoming more crowded. Managing that space is increasingly a complex endeavor. The National Academy of Public Administration put together a report on space traffic management for the United States Department of Commerce with recommendations and solutions.
Sean O’Keefe is the former administrator of NASA and former secretary of the U.S. Navy. He’s a National Academy of Public Administration fellow , a professor of public administration at Syracuse University and is one of the authors of a post on the need for space traffic management. He joined the show to discuss the report and how the government can manage low Earth orbit.
