GovExec Daily: Getting Stimulus Checks to Citizens

Duke University's Dr. Lisa Gennetian joins the show to discuss ways the Treasury Department could distribute stimulus money more creatively and efficiently to more Americans.

One component of the CARES Act is the stimulus money going out to individual Americans, but it has not come without heavy scrutiny. The delay in money getting to individuals has varied and the Treasury Department has not been consistent in its messaging. Millions are still waiting on the money to hit their bank account.

Lisa Gennetian is a professor at the Sanford School of Public Policy and an affiliate in the Duke Center for Child and Family Policy. She has written about the challenges in getting stimulus money to individuals and she joined GovExec Daily to discuss ways the federal government could distribute benefits.
