On Oct. 2, in the middle of the night on the East Coast, President Donald Trump announced via Twitter that he and First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus. Since then, a slew of White House officials and advisors have also tested positive. The president and much of his immediate retinue does seem insistent on avoiding strong safety protocols, even after all these diagnoses.
