Ex-DOE chief tells of whistleblower reprisals
Former Energy Secretary Hazel O'Leary was aware of retaliation against many Energy Department employees who reported health and safety problems during her tenure there, she said last week in a sworn affidavit for a whistleblower lawsuit. O'Leary is scheduled to testify today in a lawsuit brought by DOE employee Joseph Carson, who is seeking an injunction to stop the agency from relocating him from his safety inspector job at the DOE's Oak Ridge National Laboratory to a desk job in the agency's Washington office.
