Postponed for a lack of Democrats: one combined hearing on Y2K liability issues by the House Government Reform and Oversight and Science committees scheduled for Tuesday.
House Democratic lawmakers were not expected back in town from a party caucus until several hours after the hearing was planned; it may not be rescheduled until later this month or possibly March.
A panel spokeswoman said the meeting also got "beat out" by other issues, such as Postal Service Y2K readiness.
Rep. Steven Horn R-Calif., who heads the Government Management and Information Technology subcommittees, does however plan to issue his latest report card on government Y2K readiness the week of Feb. 22.
