Widespread Cheating on FBI Exam
Dozens of FBI employees, including at least three senior officials, cheated on a test of their knowledge of new policies on surveillance of Americans, an inspector general report has concluded.
The report "listed at least 76 agents and other employees who used or distributed answer sheets, improperly collaborated on answers, or accessed or distributed computer files containing the open-book exam's answers," according to Federal Times.
The Associated Press reported that the IG, Glenn Fine, found that Joseph Persichini, head of the FBI's Washington field office, wrote down answers to the test while two of his senior managers were taking it. Then he used the answers in taking the test himself. Test-takers were allowed to use notes and a guide to the test while taking it.
Persichini retired late last year after the investigation into the exam was launched.
