Working Together on Pay Cuts?
Cynics no doubt already have concluded that given the political climate that has developed in recent decades, it's unlikely that Democrats or Republicans will see much value after yeserday's elections in trying to genuinely work together to solve pressing national problems. But the Washington Post's Ezra Klein tries to imagine a world today in which the newly minted GOP leadership of the House and President Obama actually collaborate on a plan to boost economic growth and cut the federal budget deficit early next year.
Here's the bad news, if you work in government: One of the keys to the deal is that both sides agree to "a one-time cut to federal employee pay."
