A 10-Hour Shutdown
The White House announced this morning that "on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, the President signed into law: H.R. 3082, which provides FY 2011 appropriations through Friday, March 4, 2011, for continuing projects and activities of the federal government..."
Wait a minute. Didn't the previous continuing resolution expire on Tuesday at midnight? CBS's Mark Knoller reports that White House officials said Obama signed the new CR at 9:50 a.m. "Technically," he tweeted, "federal govt was unfunded for nearly 10 hrs."
