You Could Be on the Pitcher's Mound With a Member of Obama's Team

Want to see a major league baseball park from the pitcher’s mound? Now’s your chance.
Five federal employees will be chosen to accompany Katherine Archuleta May 6 onto the field at Nationals Park in Washington when the Office of Personnel Management director throws out the first pitch. Archuleta will be there to tout Public Service Recognition Week along with Washington’s baseball team. As part of the week-long celebration, organizers are encouraging people to recognize exceptional federal employees who embody the spirit of public service through stories and photos using the hashtag #FEDSpirit on Archuleta’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds.
“We know there are inspirational, empowering, and exciting stories of federal employees just waiting to be told,” said Archuleta’s blog post announcing her major league baseball debut. “And we’re counting on you to share them.”
The Nats are playing the L.A. Dodgers that night, and the weather forecast for D.C. looks promising, i.e., no rain.
Uncle Sam is not picking up your ballpark tab, however. Invited feds are responsible for their transportation to the stadium and their tickets to the game.
