Play of the Day: 'Basket of Deplorables' Was Not the Right Term

Hillary Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia last week, but her campaign was less than transparent about her health issues on the campaign trail. As Jimmy Kimmel put it Monday night, the conspiracy theories about Clinton "would be harder to believe if they didn't actually come true."

Clinton is under fire by some Republicans for recently calling half of Trump supporters a "basket of deplorables," citing poll numbers indicating a near-majority of Trump supporters believe African-Americans are innately lazy, violent and rude. Late-night hosts joked that Clinton made a mistake, with Conan O'Brien saying she should've called Trump supporters "a s--tload of deplorables" and The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that she could've called them "a duffle of dips--ts." Full Frontal's Samantha Bee accosted Clinton, saying "nothing else is working. Why don't we try insulting Americans into voting for her?"
